How do I cancel my booking?


1. You can cancel online through your MyWorld account. Just log in to your account here, and you can see a list of your upcoming bookings. Click on the booking reference number for the booking you wish to cancel. There will be a "Cancel" button enabling you to cancel your booking online. Please Note: If you have made a Standard Flexible Booking, you must cancel online through your account in order to be credited your deposit amount.

2. If you have booked on one of our affiliated web-sites or you do not have a MyWorld account, you can also cancel by contacting the property directly using the contact details on your confirmation email. Things to Note: In the event of a cancellation, the deposit and booking fee are non-refundable. However, if you have made a Standard Flexible Booking which you cancelled through your MyWorld account within the period of notice required by the travel services provider, the deposit cannot be refunded as cash but will be credited back to your Hostelworld.com account in US Dollars for use on a future booking through us.

The cancellation policy on this site is 24 hours prior to your scheduled check-in date (unless otherwise stated in the property's conditions). This means you must cancel at least 24 hours prior to your arrival date to avoid a no-show or late cancellation charge. The no-show or late cancellation charge is the total of the first night's accommodation cost and will be charged to your credit card if you do not notify the property in time.


How do I change my booking?


You can change your booking in one of 2 ways:

1. You can change the booking online through your MyWorld account by paying a small change booking fee. Just log in to your account here, and you can see a list of your upcoming bookings. Click on the booking reference number for the booking you wish to change. There will be a "Change" button enabling you to change your booking online. Please Note: If you have made a Standard Flexible Booking, you will be unable to change your booking online and instead will need to cancel and re-book with the changes you want.

2. If you have booked on one of our affiliated web-sites or you do not have a MyWorld account, you can also change your booking by contacting the property directly using the contact details on your confirmation email. Things to Note: Acceptance of any amendments to your booking is at the discretion of the property concerned. If an amendment of your reservation is not possible, then your deposit and booking fee are non-refundable.

Can you resend my confirmation?


Once you click on the "Confirm" button, it should only take up to 1 minute to receive confirmation of your booking on screen. Do not click the confirm button more than once or you will be charged more than once. Please note that due to the nature of the internet and individual e-mail servers, sometimes confirmation emails will not be received, or you may have misspelt your email address. As a precaution all your bookings are also stored in our online travel itinerary planner MyWorld.

Please log in here to find your booking. By booking through Hostelworld.com, you automatically become a MyWorld member and can access this area at any time to view your bookings. If you would like us to resend your confirmation, please contact us with your reference number and we will be happy to help.

What is a Standard Flexible Booking?


The following terms and conditions apply:

1. Cancellations must be made within the cancellation period set by the travel services provider.

2. If you have booked on one of our affiliated web-sites or you do not have a MyWorld account, you can also change your booking by contacting the property directly using the contact details on your confirmation email. Things to Note: Acceptance of any amendments to your booking is at the discretion of the property concerned. If an amendment of your reservation is not possible, then your deposit and booking fee are non-refundable.

3. Cancellations by telephone or e-mail are not accepted for credit.

4. Credits will only be made available for full booking cancellations and not partial cancellations.

5. Cancellation credit will be applied to your account which is identified by the e-mail address used to process your initial booking. Credit cannot be applied to a booking made using a different email address.

6. Cancellation credit is only valid for bookings made online at www.hostelworld.com and must be used within 6 months from your cancellation date.

7. In order to use your cancellation credit, simply make a repeat booking on www.hostelworld.com using the same e-mail address. Your credit will automatically apply to your booking once you confirm the reservation.

8. Cancellation credit only applies to accommodation booking deposits. It cannot be used against other charges on Hostelworld.com including booking fees or other purchases. If this has not answered your question, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

I have made a Standard Flexible Booking and want to cancel my booking, what do I do?


In order for your deposit to be credited to your account, you need to ensure you cancel your booking through your account on MyWorld a minimum of 24 hours prior to your arrival date. You can log into your MyWorld account here

How do I use my credit from cancelling my Standard Flexible Booking?


In order to use your cancellation credit simply make a repeat booking on www.hostelworld.com using the same e-mail address. Your credit will automatically apply to your booking once you confirm the reservation.

How do I make a booking??


You need a valid credit card, debit card or Paypal account to book online. The cards we accept are Visa, Visa Delta, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Switch, JCB and Laser. You card will be charged for a deposit (down-payment) and a booking fee (US$2 unless you are a MyWorld or Gold Card Member, or hold a valid discount card). Once you have selected your destination, preferred property, number of guests, and number of nights, you will be prompted for your card details to confirm your booking. You will receive an on-screen confirmation of your reservation which you should print and bring to the property. The balance due when you arrive at the property will be clearly displayed on your booking confirmation. This will always be in the local currency of the property.

How can I contact the property before I book online?


We do not provide contact information for properties before you book them. You will receive complete directions and contact information, including email address and telephone number, on your booking confirmation. If you have a question about a specific property which is not covered in their description online, please contact us and we will be happy to find out for you.
