Retro is the best established youth hostel in Cluj-Napoca (Transylvania, Romania), ideal place for backpackers and budget travelers.
We are located on a quite pedestrian lane, away from any traffic noise, two minutes walking from the main square of the city, and 500 meters from the "Babes-Bolyai" University, the second largest in the country. Open 8 years ago by enthusiastic travelers, Retro Youth Hostel, is situated inside the medieval city wall, within the neighbourhood of main tourist attractions in town.
Thus, you can reach in the walking distance all the touristy sights of the old part of Cluj such as The Tailors Fort, Museum of History, Museum of Art, Botanical Garden, Ethnographic Museum.
Retro Youth Hostel is offering over 48 accommodation places in shared rooms, triple rooms, single and double rooms.
The showers and toilets are near every room and on the ground floor there are two fully equipped modern kitchens. From our desk office you can find different maps of the region, youth hostel and international telephone cards, or you can easily join us in one of the day trips we organize (among the most requested: Scarisoara ICE CAVE tour, Maramures region tour, FELIX thermal baths & the BEAR'S CAVE tour, Turda SALT MINE tour and many more).
We offer breakfast, cooking facilities, safe boxes for luggage, info service and a friendly English speaking staff.
